Iceland - Hackney
Welcome to Iceland - Hackney, a local branch of the well-known frozen food retailer, located at 333-337 Mare St, London, England E8 1. This store offers a variety of frozen meals, snacks, and essentials that cater to the eclectic tastes of Hackney residents.
One of the main attractions of Iceland—regardless of location—is its commitment to providing affordable yet delicious options. Among the bestsellers here are the Island Delight Jerk Chicken Jamaican Pattie and the refreshing Don Simon Pineapple & Coconut Juice Drink, both of which promise a taste of the Caribbean without breaking the bank. Their Iceland Luxury Sliced Brioche Rolls are perfect for a cozy breakfast or decadent snacks.
- Frozen Ready Meals: For a quick weeknight dinner, you can't go wrong with the Iceland Tomato Chicken Pasta.
- Snacking Options: Craving something sweet? The Nestlé Milkybar Festive Friends White Chocolate Sharing Bag will satisfy your sweet tooth.
- Meat & Poultry: Satisfy your protein needs with Jahan Hot & Spicy Chicken Strips.
However, while the variety and prices are commendable, customer reviews suggest a mixed experience when it comes to service and store organization. Some patrons commend the friendly staff, while others have noted disorganization and stock issues. Anecdotes of unexpected visitors—a stray cat wandering the aisles—have also surfaced. While amusing, such incidents may detract from the shopping experience.
In summary, Iceland - Hackney is an intriguing spot for those seeking frozen convenience with a side of vibrancy. While there are evident operational hiccups reflecting occasionally chaotic management, the staples and international flavors available hint at a store full of potential. I highly recommend stopping by for your frozen essentials, but perhaps with a pinch of patience and a sense of humor!

The staff at Iceland Hackney are very nice, so no complaints about them. However, the store itself was a complete mess. Shelves were poorly stocked, items were scattered everywhere, and the whole place just felt disorganized. To make matters even more absurd, there was a stray cat wandering the aisles, seemingly acting as the manager! It sat by the tills, watched customers, and even appeared to supervise the staff. While it was amusing, it didn’t exactly inspire confidence in the store’s hygiene or professionalism. If Björk, the President of Iceland, has any influence over these stores, she needs to step in immediately. This is not a good look for a place carrying her country’s name.Despite the friendly staff, I won’t be coming back. This store needs serious improvement—and maybe a proper manager who isn’t a cat!

Great for picking up frozen fruit for smoothies or a pizza on a Friday night but not much else. I don't enjoy being chased around the store by the security guard, its weird. I do think all the security guards in Hackney are from the same useless company. Again, profilling your customers is the fastest way to chase PAYING customers away. Do better Iceland.

I did a large shop in a shopping basket. I went to a till and the staff said she is closing, then she served a trolley and said she only serves trollies. She made us go to self checkout. Then she served many more people with baskets. THIS IS A RACIAL ATTACK. The staff was laughing at us and were supporting the RACIST staff. I talked to the manager who apologised and agreed that this does happen. The manager did not say anything to her. THIS ISNT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. This is terrible customer service. DO NOT GO HERE. FIND A BETTER ICELAND WITH NICER STAFF. I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN.

On Jun, (:hr) I purchased a BestBy: Jun Iceland Chocolate Pudding g from this store. Arrived home (after a less than min walk) to discover two white spores on top of the chocolate that were hidden under the outer sleeve. Iceland Head Office closed at :hr. On Jun, I went to nearer Iceland store to get a £ refund. The duty manager looked at the receipt, looked at the spores and told me: GO BACK TO THE STORE YOU PURCHASED IT FROM FOR THEM TO DEAL WITH IT!!!! (Speechless - wow) In effect, "nothing to do with me or this Iceland store". Returned home with a chocolate pudding going mouldy and the receipt. On Jun, using their online 'customer service' form, I let Iceland H/Office know of this refund refusal of a mouldy product and still awaiting a resolution because H/office advised they are investigating. Will update you should I get a final response NO UPDATE = NO FINAL RESPONSE which means paid £ for mouldy Iceland food!UPDATE | UPDATE | UPDATE (Jun) Iceland Head Office concluded: "To resolve this issue, you will need to return to the store in which you purchased the item from". Meaning? I was suppose to keep mouldy food for DAYS (Jun to Jun = days) whilst awaiting their decision and then give the mouldy item back to Iceland!!! Good job was just days for a conclusion eh? Wont even go there if it had taken Iceland days+ to reach a conclusion!?!?! Geeez....
